Christopher Uckermann is a teenage Latin heartthrob who has starred in various telenovelas in Mexio. He is also the drummer for the Latin band RBD.
Born on October 21, 1986, the only child of a Mexican father and a Swedish mother, Christopher Alexander Luis Casillas von Uckermann had his first acting career in a commercial at the age of three. In 1999, at the age of 13, he was cast in his first telenovela entitled El diario de Daniela (Daniela's Diary). The soap opera was an instant success, and it led to Christopher Uckermann's appearance in a string of other hit soap operas, including Amigos X Siempre; Amy, la niela mochila azul; and Aventuras en el tiempo, for which he himself wrote the theme song.
Despite having starred in a number of soap operas, Christopher Uckermann is best known for his role in Rebelde, where he played Diego Bustamante, a spoiled and arrogant preppie student with ambitions of becoming a famous musician. The popularity of the soap opera gave way to the formation and debut of the band RBD in December 2004, of which Christopher Uckermann acted as the drummer.
In RBD, Christopher Uckermann is joined by the other cast members of Rebelde, namely Anahi, Dulce Maria, Maite Perroni, Alfonso Herrera and Christian Chavez. He was romantically linked with Anahi, but the relationship did not last. RBD enjoyed and has been enjoying tremendous commercial success, with sales of their albums reaching millions of copies. They are popular not only in Mexico, but also in Latin America, the United States and in Europe. RBD also made a haul of nominations in the 2006 Billboard Latin Music Awards, the nominations totaling nine and of which the group won three.
Christopher Uckermann is also a budding entrepreneur. In 2005, he started his own company named Ferbuss Fashion, which is involved in the distribution of pendants made in Romania, among other things.
